New tricks “Take off my socks” and “Go to your mat” :-)

Mammi (6 moths old) doing her newest tricks, “take off my socks” and “go to your mat”. In the video she is quite tired because I tried many times the video recording, and she repeats a lot the trick “Go to your mat”, poor girl 
She has learned “take off my socks” in only 1 day, it was casually because she was playing with my socks and I quickly took the clicker to “catch” it behaviour, but for “Go to your mat” we need almost 5 days, using, of course, clicker positive method.

Mammi has learned very quick a new trick…. “Take off my socks”. Sometimes is very easy teach a new trick, and it is the case of the new one. I was putting my socks on, and she tried to play with me, taking off it. So I took the clicker and I was playing with her to take off the socks. She needs only some minutes to learn the new trick, using the clicker and a reward. Now she has been training the new trick for 3 days and she can do it very quick and easily.
So for this week I´m planning a new video with “Take off my socks” and “Go to your mat” a trick that is not totally ready because we were training the other ones.

Mammi (almost 6 months) doing her later tricks, “Go in” and “Crawl”. She has learned both in about 10 days. To teach “Crawl” we started with “give me the hand” but on the floor, and successively asking for this movement, with both hands, she started to move ahead. Finally we ask for a long “Crawl” of approximately 1 meter.
Both tricks are not completed. We want that she crawls without our hand in front, a reminiscence from the “give me the hand”. Also we wants a completed “Go in” with the blue dog bowl, using her hinds legs.

This week Mammi is going to learn, “Go to your mat”, and also she is going to improve “Go in” and “Crawl”.
I hope we could take a movie!! And now some movies to remember how to teach it, from Kikopup and from Zsians1, both are in youtube, of course!

Dogshow weekend results

The weekend has been exhausted but very exciting!! We assisted to two Dogshows, the Exposición Nacional (CAC) e Internacional (CAC-CACIB) Canina de Vélez-Málaga, 23th and 24th of October, in Málaga, Spain.
The first day, Saturday, the judge for pekingese was Lisbeth Mach, from Sweeden. She really liked Mammi, she repeated three times the word “super” since the moment we entered on the ring. So we are very happy with her verdict. Also she was able to realize that Mammi has russian lines, so it was great! We win the best pekingese puppy, a Very Good. But we could not obtain any prize in the best puppy show. It was very complicated because it was a all round, all the groups together, and the spanish judge didn´t take any time to look properly any dog. So…
The Sunday Mammi also did a very good show, and the judge, Manola Poggesi from Italy, like her too, but she didn´t comment a lot. I didn´t like too much this judge because she tried to open the mouth of Mammi, quite disturbingly, and Mammi refused this act. The judge tried to look her teeth but it was very complicated. I think she didn´t wait to me to open her mouth. Finally when Mammi was on the floor, the judge realized that her mouth is correct. This fuss was only to look if Mammi has a good closed mouth….Also Mammi got the best pekingese puppy, a Very good, and we gone to finals. But there was another time the same… we didn´t win…
But are very happy with Mammi, she likes the ring and she likes walk in front of the people and other animals!!
Also she did a very good job walking and posing!! So the weekend was totally amazing! 
Preparing the weekend dogshow

This weekend is the first show of Mammi. We have been working on the leash and now she walks quiet good.
So now is the moment to prepare at all the stop position, in a public area…. I hope it will be ok, but we need to practice a little more.
Also Mammi has learned totally to give the hand and to give five, very well, and now she knows that must be quiet and down when we are in the kitchen. I would like to teach her to roll over, so I hope this week she learns it too.

Today Mammi has added totally the cue sit and down. She is better with down, but sit is ok too. She has learning pretty well, to be quiet and down, in the kitchen when I´m cooking or eating something. Since I taught her to bark (talk) she likes too much talk me to ask for food or to keep my attention. So I decided introduce be quiet, on this situations. She has understood very good and in only some minutes she has being quiet and waiting for her reward. Also the walks today have been better than yesterday, she almost doesn´t stop and she walks close to my foots, so I´m happy because I could see how she is improving. Today is M0nday. I don´t like too much Monday but I have decided check today what Mammi could learn this week, as exercise to focus our training.
In two weeks Mammi will have her first dogshow. At this moment she can look at me and stay, and walk more or less correctly using the show leash. But she must learn to walk on a loose leash without distractions in the street, if we want to do a pretty show.
So here are a pair of videos from youtube to train it. I hope I could say, in at least 1 week of training, that Mammi walks wonderfully!!
